Lake Nona Golf & Country Club home sale will aid Nemours Children’s Hospital

The seller will make the donation to the Nemours Fund for Children’s Health, which supports important programs and services for children and families being cared for at the Nemours Children’s Hospital. But the family’s charitable incentive is more than a tactic to move their home off the market. The family has relied on Nemours’ services for several years.
They hope their charitable act will not only engage physicians, surgeons and hospital administrators who are relocating to Lake Nona Medical City to consider their residence during their home search, but also inspire generosity in other sellers and generate interest in the Nemours Foundation. The homeowners have the backing of the Winter Park-based Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, which recently awarded a US$500,000 grant to the new Nemours Lake Nona hospital. The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation has agreed to match the homeowners’ donation if the residence sells by August 31, 2012. The family will decide on the donation amount after their home sells.
The homeowner’s contribution will help fund Nemours KidsTRACK Care Coordination, a program that provides patient families access to a care coordinator who acts as a single point of contact to help set up doctors’ appointments, talk to insurance agencies and prepare patients and their families to return home by providing training on medicine.
KidsTRACK was also selected as the beneficiary of the grant funding from the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation. Through a poll administered online and at Nemours clinics, Central Florida families were asked to vote on how the Edyth Bush grant should be used to enhance Nemours Children’s Hospital’s services.
